Renaissance Pleasure Fair #1 - The Costumes

My camera and I went to the Renaissance Pleasure Fair yesterday. It was a beautiful day even though it was a tad warm (near 90). It was located at the Santa Fe dam which I've posted pictures from in previous posts. Difficult to believe that they got so much into an area. In fact, it was as if the moment you walked through the gate you were lost in an entirely different era and the park and lake were in another world.

I'll be doing several posts on this because there are just too many photos to share and I want to share them and hope you enjoy them. I'm starting with the costumes. It used to be one could tell who worked there because they were the ones in costumes. Now the workers and the guests are all in costumes so I'm hoping no one is offended if they see their photo here. But i fyou have a problem please contact me and I'll remove it.

The costumes were so varied and so detailed. Actually, being someone who sews I was fascinated and sometimes in awe and the quality of the costumes. They were no joke! Maybe one year I'll dress up. I think it would be a lot of fun and would complete the feel of being lost in the time zone for a day.

If you live in the area and would like to go I would highly recommend it. There is something there for everyone, plenty of games for the kids, plenty of food and plenty of beer/ale for the grown folks. It's there every weekend until May 17, 2009.
