The Arboretum
I missed My World Tuesday this week so I thought I'd share a little something anyway. I usually post photos of flowers and plants and birds I see at the Arboretum but don't often show the actual grounds. I thought I'd share several shots of just some of the grounds around the Arboretum. These were taken during the summer of 2008. And I threw in a couple of the local birds.

I love the peacock. Nice pictures.
Those are absolutely beautiful pictures and I loved the ones of the birds. I haven't been lucky enough to get a peacock displaying his feathers. Yours is a very impressive one.

Oh, you made me so homesick with those photos! My bus stop in high school was at Golden West Drive and Old Ranch Road! Right there on the back corner of the Arboretum! I need to get back and visit it this summer! Thanks for the memories!

Valkyrien - I don't think they're a local bird but they're definitely an inhabitant of this arboretum. They're all over the place.

I'm glad you showed us the grounds -- they're beautiful. But I really like the picture of the peacock.
Peacock is one flashy bird. Too flashy in fact.

These are wonderful! I love the peacock all spread out among the plants :-) A beautiful place.
I love the peacock! The tail and the light make him almost disappear in the foliage, but then you see his body, and the whole photo pulls together!!
I think they are native to India and places like that, but I am not sure.
As much as I really like your bird pictures, it's very nice to see some shots of the grounds of the arboretum, too. (And don't you love it when those peacocks show off like that??)
