Watery Wednesday #21

I so behind schedule today but I'm finally getting my post up. If you haven't put your cyber feet in the water today, what are you waiting for? Get on over to Watery Wednesday and let's get wet!

This is at the lake at Bonelli Park. I don't know what kind of birds these are but there's always a horde of them and the lake and this day the decide to gather around this woman and her son. There were a couple of other ducks in the bunch too.

Get a little mentally wet today and check out more wet and watery photos. click here or on the image/icon below:

I am not going to even try and guess what they are. I will simply admire them!! The images are just so evocative of summer!

So nice pictures of happy birds! I am not sure, but I believe we call the birds "Sothøne" in Norway. Means something like a black hen. Difficult to decide - the red eye is simular.

Never seen som many together, but I see them often in a little lake near by. They are mascots of the lake, because the lake is protected by law.

Hmmm...I'm not sure what they are either, but I've seen some on the lakes in A'dam. Anyway, I thought it was you on the pic as it was me on mine, only in back view. :)Thanks for hosting WW, I like it coz I'm a water person myself.

That's a happy water scene. I'm pretty sure those are American Coots.

Looks like a nice day to hang out with the birds. I don't know what they are either but they're interesting with their dark heads.

Nice to see all those birds getting along so well!

You have to hand it to a duck, water always rolls of their back. They look passive on the surface, but under the water their feet are paddling like crazy.

I especially like the last one. She seems like she's posing.

Coots - such a silly name for a duck don't you think!

There's so many! That would be fun to feed them & watch them swim around!

I loved seeing the duck pictures. Reminded me of when my kids were little and we'd take them to the 'Duck Pond.' That's always been a treat for kids and I guess it still is!

Ohhh you got my heart with the ducks. Great Pictures. We had a pet duck (Yes he was white and he came to us named Aflac) and he would just follow us around the yard like a dog. Believe it or not they ARE wonderful pets. Great pictures, Thanks for having me!

These are a lovely series of photos - just gorgeous.

The black and white birds are crested coots. I love those birds (although they can be pretty mean towards eachother and other birds!)

I love your entry. Makes me smile :o)

Hi, 25weetnsaxy, I like your blog in here. I like the photos. And... I would like to join this "Watery Wednesday", but I am not sure how. :) And where should I ask permission to join this?

Love the last one! How you can see the duck's little webbed feet under the water.

Just dropping in to say hi. They look like common coots, birds that we have here in Indiana in the winter time. Ours are very timid and want at least 50 yards between any human and themselves, unlike yours who seem to thrive on much closer contact.
