BIRD'S NEST

I'm so excited! I was out pulling some weeds when looked up at a windchime I have hanging. My face got all scrunched up when I noticed this matted mess on top of it. I thought, "what the hell is that!?" I have a problem with black widow spiders and thought maybe it was a nest. Then I remembered that story about a cactus shaking like it was a live then it exploded and a whole bunch of baby tarantulas were everywhere (still don't know if that's a true story).

Anyhow, I moved it by pulling on one of the chimes and low and behold! These little beaks popped out over the top of it and I realized it was a bird's nest. Because of how it's positioned close to the lattice over my patio these were the best shots I could get. I could have loved to get one looking directly down into it but couldn't.

Here's my bird's nest!!

Thanks Claire! I was looking at it today when the little bugger lifted it's little booty above the edge of the nest and squirted! I'm still laughing. :-D

I love this! I've had some nests in my yard, and it's a total thrill for me to watch the babies grow, and sad when they leave. Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for the comment Barbara. I've been trying to get a picture of the mama when she's feeding but can't get close enough when she's there.
