Today's Flower #10 - Bird of Paradise
I may have posted these before back when I first started my blog but since this is one of my favorite flowers I thought I'd do a series on the Bird of Paradise. I've always loved this flower since I was a kid and my mom showed me something. Did you know that if cut these for an arrangement you can kind of force the bloom by opening up the slit and pulling out the petals (I guess you'd call them petals)?
The only thing is the longer they stay in the pod the more color they will have.

BIRD OF PARADISE
Just a picture of a bird of paradise I took at work when I was playing with my new camera. I just love this flower and always have.
