Let me tell you this wasn't the easiest shot to get because the spider and web were swaying in the wind and I was afraid if I wasn't careful or got too close I was going to wind up with it on my lens. So, this was as close as I was willing to get. Imagine me swaying in whatever direction it did while trying to snap this.
It really does pay to look up.

I am glad you posted both of them. They are so wonderful and I dont usually like spiders, but this one is fine. Happy SWF.
Beautiful shots! You did a fantastic job with this difficult subject.

Nice catch... I can just see you taking it...
superb captures!!
Fantastic shots for SWF! Great work! Thanks for stopping by Photonic Harmony, I wish you well.
neat photos - bravo...
Always yukky to walk into a web...think I'd freak out if the spider were there with it when I did! No doubt this guy was a bit peeved at having his work ruined and having to start over :-)
hmmmm very cool shot of the sky...
It almost seems as if the spider is floating with a parachute and the chute is out of view of the camera.
Eww, ewww, ewwwwww. I hate it when that happens. Way to make the best of it by capturing it for us!
I really love the colours and the lighting on this little fella. Nice work.
Oh ... I hate walking into spider webs! This sure made me feel like I was about to! Great shot - I think I liked the first the best.
My Sky Watch Photos are posted Here and Here
I think you deserve praise for just trying to snap the spider, great shots.
Poor spider! LOL! Or should I say poor you. ;-) Awesome shot of the sky and the spider.

Neat idea for sky watch.
Great colors - another sign of impending fall - the numbers of spiders is increasing!
Cheers, Klaus
Great photos, I can see why you couldn't pick just one, and I'm glad you didn't.
And you're right about the wind, it's the bane of every macro photographer in the universe.
Nice spider! Love the commentary with this one. Imaginging you swaying!
These are great; you still caught the motion as I can see the web's curve. Yet they are sharp! You are right, there is something fundamentally embedded in our instincts regarding spiders.
I like the first one best but both are very good! You persevered and got wonderful shots in difficult conditions.
Spiders are kinda of yucky to me, but you did a real cool shot
Great capture for Skywatch. I'm glad you posted both.
Happy Skywatch Frriday
