One of the attractions at the Descanso Gardens is the area dedicated to fruits and vegetables. Having never grown any I'll admit this was a bit of a learning experience for me. I know flowers come before the fruit but I never stopped to think that strawberries had flowers. I never stopped to think that there was a squash flower either. Thought I'd share just a few of those photos.

Gee, this place has everything! I love that picture of the premature strawberries...never seen them at that stage before. Thanks for your heartfelt comment today re the post about my mom...
These are very nice photos and the Italian Trombone Squash is a winner.
In response to your comment on my blog at Abe's Town, I left the following reply there:
"What you talked about is a common problem with young people. Many never talk to their fathers about anything. Oh sure, if they want some money or to use the car. But how many know who their father planted a kiss on for the first time? Things like that. I know I never asked my father anything. My children seldom ask me anything unless they want something. That seems to be universal.
There are places you can go to learn about your father's association with the Tuskegee airmen. Have you tried typing that word in on Google search?"
I see that you are still taking amazing photographs. This is Jeremy, I once commented before and told you to look at my blog.
I have since changed my email, so i did change my blog location lol. Please check it out and comment. I am looking to gain a larger audience. I have also made my page more "useable" for guests who visit it.
Let me know what you think of the layout =) and comment on my latest post: Sin: What Is It?

June - I haven't seen one like that either and you're welcome about my comment. :-)
Klaus - Thank you. I've never seen a squash flower before. I thought it was pretty cool!
Abe - Thank you. Yes, I've done searches, even posted a few shots on another site I have and had a couple if people contact me re: them. :-)
Jeremy - Thanks! I'll check it out again.
I admit I never knew how pretty the flowers are before the fruit, great photos!
TFS! Kim
The Squash Flower looks like a rose I've never seen something like that. It's amazing but it's a fruit or a vegetable.
