Actually, I don't know if these are all native to California but I took pictures of them in California so... I thought I'd share some photos of our desert plant life from the Huntingon Library and Botanical Gardens. THe first one is actually a tree and not a plant. It's a Yucca tree.
2sweetnsaxy, it's funny to come from Christmasy Vienna to your California cactus post :)))) Quite a difference!
Well, to explain the huge decorations I think Viennese people are playful at heart, loving things like oversized candelabra, as if the whole city was a giant ballroom. And there are so many tourists here who enjoy it :) Have a nice week!
Great cacti you've got there, Saxy! We get plenty of them just west of here and stretching across the length of Texas, but I've never had much luck photographing them. I especially love the last two shots you posted. Very nice!
By the way ... you have been tagged! See my post for the rules to Six Random Things HERE.

I am certainly no expert on cacti. I have seen all of those except that
TREE! Amazing thing there.
Stunning shots, nice collection.

I like these photos. Of course, looking at the cactus makes me wish for warmer weather out here in PA...

I love cacti especially the miniture ones. It seems so strange to see flowers on them at times.
These are great examples! When I go to Tucson each year a learn a few more cacti, but I'm glad I don't live with them all the time :-)
There's a Christmas card for you on my blog.
Great photos! Too bad we don't have cacti around here :)
You are getting me to want to visit the desert to see some of this beauty.
wow these are beautiful!!!
I spend my winter in AZ and look forward to seeing all the cacti in full Spring bloom!
Your images really brought goose bumps all over my body, I literally shivered for a min. That's the extent of details you captured. Aweomse...Thomas
Beautiful colours and details in all of these.
If they are in California, they're Californian right? Lovely collection here.
T: Beautiful cacti captures, nicely done.
Wow! Yes, very nicely captured. I love how they're all different-looking.
