Barefoot In The Grass

I remember that as a child I used to love to walk barefoot in the grass. Whatever happened to just enjoying the simple things in life. I wonder sometimes why we can't live as simply as the bird...or is a bird's life as simple as it seems. I know that the older I became the more aware I was of things in the grass I didn't want to step on or clean off my feet. Now I won't walk in grass without shoes. I miss the simplicity of being a kid. I miss the feel of the grass between my toes. I wonder if wiser is always better or if being wiser simply takes some of the joy out of life. When I took this photo, I envied these birds walking barefoot in the grass.

Great photos, the Bible says be like children, they would walk barefoot without a thought. Nice! We as adults make like WAY to complicated.

Agree with Darla! How the heck did you get them do that?

Lovely new shots . I particularly love this Towhee :-)
That grass sure does look inviting for a barefoot stroll !

Beautiful captures 2SweetNSaxy. It does seem that simplicity goes by the wayside as we grow up. But then after a lot of manufactured fun, we return to realizing that the simple natural ones are far superior.

Darla - We do make things too complicated. I'm learning to try not to. :-)

Klaus - How did I get them to do what? Walk barefoot? :-D

Nick - Which one is the towhee? LOL.

Sheila - True. I'll take nature's fun with my camera any day. :-)

Love the birds! I'll go out on the patio with bare feet but, like you, I can't bring myself to go in the grass without shoes.

I came to see what my pic of the grass inspired. Beautiful photos, and a very thoughtful post!

My three Australian grandchildren always walk barefoot every where: not only in the grass but also in town, in the bush... you name it!. I am always afraid that one day they will be bitten by a snake.
But anyway, your shots are great!

Great photos - I took a similar one of a song sparrow and it didn't turn out nearly as well.

But barefoot, well, that I can do. And always will.
