Footprints In The Sand

Just a few more things I took pictures of at the beach. The first two are shots of seaweed washed ashore and drying out in the sand.

As I was walking across the rocks that lead down to one side of the beach I happened to look down and see this cat nestled between the rocks. That was a big surprise to me. I've never seen a cat at the beach. Maybe it knew how many birds hung out there and was tired from trying to catch one. :-) Then again, maybe like a lot of people, it just enjoyed the sea breezes and the warm sun.

And these are my shoe prints in the sand which I thought made for an interesting shot. It reminded me of my favorite poem which I posted below the photo.

Footprints In The Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”

The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.”

I love that story. Have you heard Leona Lewis's song, Footprints in the Sand, so pretty!

I bet the seaweed was tastey... nice and crunchy. I enjoyed the shots very much.

I love that poem - my mother had a little framed print of it on her dresser.

Great photos of the beach! The first time I saw that type of seaweed, I was fascinated by how strange it was. That cat is so pretty! It looks very content. I've always liked that poem, too and now you have personalized it with your own footprints. You should frame it with the poem.
