My World Tuesday #2

My World Tuesday is a new meme hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Wren, Fishing Guy Tom over at Show Your World.

I live in a city that is a part of Los Angeles County and I'm about 28 miles from downtown Los Angeles. I think one of the reasons people like L.A. is because within about a 1-2 hr. drive you literally have anything can possibly want to do. I thought this week I'd share just a little bit of Hollywood. I apologize in advance for the length of this post but you can't show Hollywood in one picture.

The first picture is of the Kodak Theatre which has hosted the Academy Awards since 2001.

This is the front of the Grauman's Chinese Theater. It's always packed out front where people look for the footprints of their favorite celebrities.

In case you can't read these you can click for a larger view. The first is the cast of Harry Potter and the next is Humphrey Bogart.

Or you can walk the boulevard and look at the celebrity names that line the street or get your picture taken with a movie star lookalike:

Along with the souvenirs you can buy like the John Lennon doll you can also visit places like the Hollywood Wax Museum and Ripley's Believe It Or Not.

I think it must be never boring there! Fun post!

What fun! I never think about anyone actually living in Hollywood...just tourists :-) Love the footprints...they should have had Harry's forehead print with the scar! California is such an intersting state!

I caught a little of your post on Joshua Redmon -- one of my faves actually! Right up there with Rollins and Coltrane. Okay, maybe not Coltrane, but hey... who is?

I'm with Louise... never a dull moment out there, huh?

This is an interesting tour in Hollywood. You're right you can't show Hollywood in one photo and not even in ten. So may be next time you can show us even more? It's very interesting.
Thanks for your visit!

Thank you for the wonderful tour. This 2nd week of meme really makes us appreciate the many places that we don't usually see or ever had a chance to visit like the one you showed me in this post. Another great job and more to come in the coming weeks.

We see so many of these places in film and on TV. I can't imagine living just around the corner from it all.

Hollywood is definitely a unique place! I can't imagine being a look-alike star. Tee hee. Do a lot of people play act at being stars?

I've been to L.A. a couple of times, but still need to do the tourist thing and get to all those places...

I think this is a great idea. getting to see everyones "World" and all of the differences. Of course between Mary and me you may not get too much variation.Yhanks for visiting my site as I try to get into this bloging thing.

Los Angeles is certainly big and varied. And I agree, there's an advantage to having everything within an hour or two - but also a disadvantage when everything you want to get to is an hour or two away, thanks to traffic.

You gave such a nice feel for how it would be walking in Hollywood - it seems so exciting!

That is so awesome that you live so close to things that most of us only get to see on tv. Cool pictures.

Some great shots of places we all hear about but rarely get to see!
Well done - I agree with Fishing Guy - not too long at all.

Great shots! The John Lennon doll left me laughing. Your post is not too long, there's a lot to show of LA! My town isn't real small (by no means the size of LA) and I couldn't begin to show all of it with one post.

So neat, thanks for a little taste of Hollywood :)
