Why is a weed a weed and not a flower? Who decided? Would we look at weeds differently if they had never been categorized as weeds in the first place? It makes me think... who initially decided what was external beauty in people and what was ugly? What if that which was called ugly was first called beauty instead. Would we look at each other differently?
A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet. But is a weed still a weed once you find the beauty in it?

Great photos and passion!
Sorry!! I guess that means I meant it twice, haha
I think this looks beautiful for "just an old weed". ;-)
Paz
even an old weed has its own beauty to give. Love this photo.
The way you photographed it makes the "weed" look like an elegant bridal bouquet. I love the blurred background.
WOW! Such lovely shots! Looks like a snow:)
A combination of the flowers and the background made this photo very elegent.
Thanks for stopping by my TF earlier :)
Beautiful photographs. I personally think there are a lot of weeds out there that are glorious in their own beauty.
So who ever said the old ones are ugly??!?! It's lovely :)
I guess it's all a matter of perspective..It makes a beautiful photo...
The flowers are pretty. I really like the first one with the white stems too.
'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' they say and we each have different perspectives.
I love these images.
When I first saw them I thought the same as Leora - wedding - was my first thought.
A wonderfully artistic image!
Weeds tend to be seen as a nuisance and turn up when they are not wanted! Having said that, these are beautiful weeds :) Nice sift colours and details.
Beautiful! I consider a weed is something wild, growing where others necessarily don't want it to grow; but it does not diminish its beauty!
What is commonly called a weed, is only an otherwise beautiful plant in a place where someone does not want it.
Amazing delicate beauty in this! You are so right! A name is simply a tag. It does not really get to the heart of beauty!
I like how the picture almost lacks color: very neutral.
I think there is a saying about "a weed is a wildflower that is growing where you don't want it". It's true! I have seen some really beautiful "weeds". I love that first photo in particular....really makes it look lovely!
Peppermint Twist is a different rose, if you read the caption on my rose, you will discover it's name.
maybe u can take pics of my flowers on my farm one day
taste is nothing but a cultural thing.
I love your flowers :)
I think it is a pretty flower and wouldn't have known it was a weed if you hadn't mentioned it. Just goes to show what negative labels can do to one's thinking.
Thanks for your visit to my Today's Flower! I am so sorry to be so late in visiting yours! It has been a hectic weekend with company who have just left today.
A weed is a totally subjective label and just means a plant you don't want there! A rose can BE a weed in the wrong place, and some "weeds" are called wildflowers by those who appreciate them. You must be one of the latter.
