Western Sandpipers

I think these are Western Sandpipers. If I'm wrong, please correct me. I see these up at the lake, usually hopping very quickly along the edge of the lake occasionally stopping to look in the water for food. (Click on any image to enlarge.)

I have not had that much luck with sandpiper shots and you captured them very nicely.

High contrast environment does make images harder to render colour. You did well!

They are very pretty and those are great shots! I don't know one sandpiper from another and certainly not western anything! I feel like I've entered another world when we head west on vactions and all my familiar birds are gone.

I just love waders I could photograph them all day, although they don't normally let me get this close. good job.
