These are the turtles of U.C. Riverside's Botanical Gardens. There's a small pond towards the back below the higher level where the rose garden is. There were a lot of turtles lined up on the log and then several climbing the side of the hill. They made a terrific sounding plop in the water as I walked up, scared them and then dove in the water.
