Today's Flowers - Wooly Blue Curls

My photos for today's meme are called Trichostema Lanatum - Wooly Blue Curls. I wish I'd remember how to use the manual focus on my camera. Whenever I need it I can't remember how to get to it. I needed it for these because the lens kept wanting to focus on the background and not the flower. Urrrggghhh! LOL!

Anyway, I've always like the soft curl of the stamen and the lovely colors. Oh! And can you see the hummingbird in the first photo? :-)

Lovely macros! The curl is pretty cool.
I did not see the hummingbird until you mentioned it. I guess I was focused on the flower and thinking I have the same problem when focusing. (Apparently in more ways than one. :)
Did you know he was there?

Carletta - I took these a couple of weeks ago. I'm pretty sure that at the time I was trying to capture it but I'd forgotten about it and didn't even see it in the photo until I posted it. :-)

Your macros are simply wonderful of these lovely flowers!

Miss sweet, you can't take a bad photo.... they are always great! But I do feel your frustration about remembering all the settings when you want them...NOW! Been there, done that :D

They're amazing flowers! I love your close ups that show how woolly it is. And I didn't spot the humming bird until you mentionned it - what a great bonus!

Lovely photos..I have trouble remember the manual setting too. I wrote some down on a index card and put it in the camera case...

Beautiful macros, Ms. Saxy. I love the name too, almost like the oldies song "Woolly Bully". You also have a good eye, didn't see the birdie, until you said so.

I figured out a trick on my camera. Assuming you have one with an AF (autofocus) then MF (manual) lens switch. I do the AF first. When that is set with the item I want in focus, I switch to MF so the focus won't switch. Then I can work on the composition and the ISO and other numbers.

Well, your flowers are lovely! new to me.

Auto-focus can be a bit of a pest when you are trying to snap a little bird in a bushy tree and it focuses on leaves and twigs 'til the bird has departed. My eyesight is no longer yp to manual focus so I do my best with what I have.
I love your flowers and amazungly, your humming bird has visible wings! Nice macros as well.
