Sky Watch Friday - Rancho Santa Ana B.G.

Happy Sky Watch Friday to everyone! These are a couple of shots of the sky over Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden in Southern California. Look there are clouds!! I say this because more often then not the sky is just blue without a cloud in sight. Kind of makes for a boring sky watch.

Currently we're cloudy with thunderstorms but I'm too chicken to go out to my favorite spots since there are so many trees and a woman was killed yesterday when lightening struck a tree she was walking under in a neighborhood. I'm staying home.

If you'd like to see more photos from Rancho Santa Ana B.G. there are some in the post below this one.

I agree... clouds definitely enhance the excitement of sky watching... unless it's all clouds. Great shots!

Beautiful photos, such pretty skies and a pretty bird. I don't blame you for not wanting to go out.

I couldn't get on Mr. Linky but my SWF post is up.

Yikes. Lightning can be scary and dangerous. Beautiful shots, particularly the first one.

Nice clouds :)
And I hope the thunderstorm comes complete with rain.
The poor woman who got killed. I wouldn't go out either I think.

Nice shots. I don't blame you for not wanting to go out. We had lightening here in Sacramento as well and I wasn't sure where a safe place to watch was.

Same here too in my neighborhood, no clouds in site. Yes, you are better off staying home, what happened was scary. I'm staying home tonight and watch the Lakers game.

a mixture of white and blue in the sky really complements the plants and the trees in the first photo. well done.

I don´t know how some people live in a place without clouds. At least you have some other great things to snap there too, like those trees.

Lovely sky photos ;--)
Haven't our Southern California skies been beautifully variable lately? I've taken TONS of photos the past few days ... shared at Small Reflections AND Sacred Ruminations today.

I don't blame you for not going out in thunderstorms. Your picture of the sky with the clouds is beautiful, but so is that blue sky behind the bird.

i prefer to stay home when it's stormy. although i've been dreaming of taking photos of lightning.:D

P.S. i made a Watery Wednesday badge, i hope you don't mind.:D

beautiful shots and I know what you mean about cloudless, blue skies being boring after awhile. That's what the sky often looks like around here, blue, without a cloud in sight :-(

That is awful about the woman being killed by lightening ...people often discount the dangers when a thunderstorm is in the area. It does not have to be overhead for stikes to occur..

I really like that first photo...the trees are interesting..
