Today's Flowers - Magnolias

I've always loved magnolia blossoms, especially the white ones like the ones I've posted today. I'm fascinated by these big, beautiful blooms in the trees, some bigger than my face as I walk up to them (if I'm lucky enough to find them low on a tree).

I think they're beautiful even when they've begun to age and they become a brownish color.

Very pretty. I love this flower to the extent that I crocheted a magnolia pattern for an afghan.

Big wonderful trees and lovely blossoms! But, when those leaves and blossoms drop - it's a mess. :)
I love that last set of macros!

I love Magnolia's, they don't seem to flower for long though.

Beautiful shots.

Truly a classic.

I love the shadows on the fist shot, and I think I agree with you that the fading to brown is also a wonderful colour. I think we tend to dismass brown too often as an ugly colour, but this is so soft!!
