FIREWORKS

I realize I have a lot to learn and that maybe I need to invest in a camera with different lenses.... or really learn mine a little more. I love fireworks and this was the first time I actually attempted to take pictures of some. The fireworks setting on my camera didn't allow me to know exactly what I was taking pictures of. But, it was a learning experience and I tried different settings trying to see which would work best. Needless to say, only a few of them came out.

Great 1st attempt ! Take more photos of fireworks and you would slowly get the hang of it !

Like them a lot! They are way better than my 4th of July firework shots.
(Didn't take any..;)) But seriously - they are great - much better than what I expected after reading what you wrote. You did good!
Cheers, Klaus

That's pretty good for a first attempt. I find it a rather difficult practice really, as the areas we tend to blow off our fireworks are so dark, I can't even see anything through the lens and have a heck of a time aligning anything (also the lack of patience to stand around an hour or two before hand when there is still light hinders me greatly).

Jinghui - Thank you! I will definitely be trying this again. And I can't wait to check your out.

Klaus - You are so funny! Considering how many I took, at least I did get a few that actually came out. 3 out of 20 isn't too bad. :-D

Zarquon - if I had not taken these on a digital camera I might not have gotten any. Thought I tried some of my own settings the preset one came out best. And then I had the display to see rather than through the lens.

They look like flowers. That's very nice.
About your equipment interrogation. Yes, a DSLR opens other doors but not only with the possibility to change lenses but also with an increased image quality and a better reactivity. But the images i see on these pages are beautiful !

Thank you Patrick. I love this camera and I am so pleased with the pics, no doubt but I do see what others do and I want MORE! LOL! Anything I do, I always want more!

If this was your first try at fireworks photography, I can hardly wait to see what you'd produce with more practice. These are spectacular. Congratulations.
