Morning Glories

As pretty as these little purple flowers are, they are the bain of my garden existence. Not only do they attract bumble bees which send me running into the house but they take over EVERYTHING! I pulled them up one year after I planted them many years ago and they still pop up all over my yard. Because they're vines, if I don't pull them up quickly they literally take over everything and I have to untwine and clip them out of my rose bushes and whatever else they've invaded. Still, they did make for a pretty picture before I pulled them out of my gladiolas.

They are gorgeous! The top one looks as if it has a beam built in! :)

That little beam is great! The base is white and I guess because it's so thin the light comes through it like a beam. Very cool! :-)

These are very beautiful and I love Morning Glories but haven't had much luck growing them. Mine are annuals when I plant them which I start from seed but they don't bloom until late July or August, so I guess I don't experience any problems with them like you do. The Magenta Gladiola is very beautiful as well.

Thank you for the comments on my blogs, they are much appreciated.

Your story about the Morning Glories reminded me of something. Once we were at a restaurant that had a pretty vine climbing on its fence. My daughter took a little snip, which we rooted at home and then planted in the garden. In no time at all that thing took over the place. Finally my hubby pulled it up by the roots and threw it over the bank. Of course it is now ALL OVER the bank. Gotta admire its hardiness (I guess).

Me And My Camera - You're welcome about my visit. I really enjoy your blog. The morning glories pop up every summer everywhere which is funny because I only planted them in one spot initially.

Bobbie - I can see why my story reminded you of yours. They're definitely persistent!! Like I told Me and My Camera, I initially only planted them in one spot and now they pop up all over my yard. Guess I can blame these birds...
:-D

Once they take root, they'll spread and grow. In the right location, say over a trellis or at a mailbox, they are simply beautiful.

Jayne - That is true. The really are lovely. I just don't know how they got in with my rose bushes. They grow so fast they just swallow them up. :-(

Well, they may be pesky, but they sure are beautiful. I love the light on them. Really beautiful!

Thanks Sandpiper! I'll guess I'll forgive them for now since I got a couple of pics. :-)
