My World Tuesday #12 - Showcase of Floats

Last week I shared some photos of the floats and people working to decorate the floats for the Tournament of Roses Parade. This week I'll be sharing pictures from the Showcase of Floats that takes place for 2 days after the parade. The floats are lined up along to streets that are blocked off. The streets are lined with people who park and ride at three locations then take buses over. They sell souvenirs, food, drinks and the smell of kettle corn will drive you nuts until you buy some.

I took so many pictures that I thought it was best to but them in a slideshow for those who would like to see more pictures. These are of what I thought were some of the most interesting parts of some of the 44 floats and their flowers.

Fun! How nice of you to make a slide show. I especially like the lion. I also noticed that wonderful bee close up in your side bar! Oh, and look below to that GORGEOUS bird shot below. I love how whispy the trees are framing it and the spread wings. (Sorry no time to comment on appropo post.)

I didn't realize that they parked the floats after the parade so that everyone could view them better. That's awesome! Your photos really show off the vibrant colors of the displays.

Thanks for including the slide show -- it was a nice way to get in more pictures.
I'm glad the city makes it possible to see the floats up close.

You have plenty of colors and flowers, I have white snow and ice :)
But I think we both love our own places.
Those bird photos are also perfectly captured.
Happy days to you!

It's amazing the kind of detail they can get on those floats.

We watched on TV; the skateboarding dog was my favorite.

It's hard to believe it's all flowers. Great captures. Love the details. So glad the floats are available for viewing after the parade. Lucky you to live in the right place.
