Monochrome Monday - Bolsa Chica

Hope you're not tired of hearing the name Bolsa Chica. I added it to my title to make it a little easier for myself when I'm looking back through my posts. But, these were taken at Bolsa Chica along the water's edge along one of the paths.

I know some people may not like these shots but something about these dead trees jutting out of the water, the textures and shapes against the water appeals to me.

I like the shot below because the tree laying across the bottom looks like a serpent. Does the end of it look like a head?

I think the whole sequence is superb - very fine. And you have a 'found' serpent as well.

Very dramatic in B&W! That does look like a sea serpent:-)

I love these shots. I always find the remains of trees jutting out of the water beautiful in their own way and you did a great job photographing them.

It does look like a snake...I think trees make such interesting photos. Something most people take for granted...

Now that you mention it, it does look rather like a sea serpent or some such thing. And I actually like the contrast of the dead trees against a monochrome sky. But don't base anything on my tastes, their weirdness is well documented.

Just by way of general information, as long as you add "Bolsa Chica" as a label, you should be able to find the posts easily enough in the dashboard just searching on the phrase. The search box that the public sees will pick those up too, but also every occurrence of that phrase anywhere you use it. So you don't have to put it in the title to make it searchable. (Just sayin'... I don't think it really makes that much difference what's in the title anyway.)

Great set of shots. Perfect in mono.

These are perfect pictures, three of them. I like them very much.
At the first sight, I would have said a dragon, no ? The three picture "tell" something like an old legend about an haunted land, according me. Imagination .....

Yes, I agree it looks like a serpent. Wonderful, each one.

they are all very good :-)

I like the way the texture of the dead trees is accentuated by the b/w. And yes, the one does look like a dragon head, although with the skin falling off the neck, it would be a pretty wierd story!

Dead trees suiting the mono tone well and these are perfect shots.

I think this is a perfect subject matter for black and white. They would not have been as dramatic in color.

Yes, that one log does look like a strange creature. You've captured the mood of this place perfectly in monochrome. I really like the ripples and reflections in the water shots. Interesting place...enjoy the day.
