Nothing but blue skies over Bolsa Chica. It was hard to miss these huge herons flying in the sky and landing in these trees near their nests. If you'd like to see more of Bolsa Chica Wetlands there are more photos below this post. Have a wonderful weekend! I think I'll be heading back to Bolsa Chica in the morning.

These herons are beautiful!! Great captures. I love the open wings...
wonderful captures!!
We are so used to seeing them on the water's edge most of the time, that it always makes me almost laugh to see them up in trees nesting! Great shots!
Great shots, birds are always a fantastic subject to take pictures of. (:-)
Cool bird shots! Nice clear shot. We must have bird brains this week. I posted birds too.
Nice shots of the Grey/ Blue Heron.
The 2nd image is a beautiful pose and well composed.
Impressive pictures!
Great series! :)
Wonderful! Your heron photos are a lot better than mine! I wish I could get that close.
I have seen herons mostly near water, and sometimes flying. I have seen one land on a house, for a rest (they are not very good flyers!), but I have never seen them in trees! That is so funny!!
Wonderful sky shots with the birds.

These are MAGNIFICENT captures of birds & sky ... simply wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Sorry to be visiting so late, but I've been ill and haven't done much of anything for a week or so. I'm doing what I can to catch up today.
