Watery Wednesday #27

Am I the only one who can't believe it's already Wednesday again? I thought this made for an interesting picture. This is one of the shots I took at Bolsa Chica. It's a wildlife preservation so how did this one plastic chair get in the water and why is it still there?

LOL! My guess? Some sort of a movable art installation!!! Just kidding. It makes for an interesting photo though.

Love your photo. The chair is compliments of trashy people. Birds don't need chairs.

Ewok1993 - LOL! That was my comment to someone walking by who said it was too bad the chair was in the way. I said I was kind of glad it was there for the picture.
:-D

Jan - I'm thinking the people over the conservancy must have left it there on purpose... maybe at least for now.

it's the same around here, garbage in wildlife areas.

Good photo though.

Gill - This place is actually very clean except in certain places like the channel that flows down into a neighborhood. That's why this chair surprised me. It was practically right at the entrance.

It is an interesting shot--i like the composition, it does look sad, though, doesn't it? It is nice that we are working on Spring and all the winter cleanup that entails!

A very interesting photo, says it all doesn't it? You have captured it very well, this incessant laziness of some in not getting rid of things the right way, maybe they were partying, no excuse. The bird doesn't seem to mind even though he doesn't realize how it is polluting his universe. The weeks do go by pretty fast. I would like to thank you for creating Watery Wednesday if I haven't said it before. I enjoy looking at all these lovely 'watery' photographs.

My daughter took a photo recently of a lounge chair at the beach. But it really made an interesing photo because it was so 'different' than what you would have expected. Same as your photo.

Interesting shot. One certainly wonders about that chair. Someone has had a temper tantrum perhaps. Still it gives nice perspektive to the size of that lovely bird.

It makes for a real photo of an artist's eye. I guess that critter is using it that's why it's not been removed yet. :)

I know you walked a long way to get some of your photos. Maybe someone else took a chair to enjoy the sights and then was too lazy to carry it back.
The chair makes for an interesting reflection.

Oops, I forgot to add my post is on my photoblog.

Neat photo. I like the reflection and the bird.

This is a great shot! The chair gives this photo even a deeper meaning, though it really shouldn't be there. I'm kind of perplexed how people like to throw some weirdest things on mother earth. It's so amusing to read the comments. I couldn't help myself and smile. Wish I were that funny :).

Quite a bit of crud on the chair around the 'waterline' -- looks like it's been there awhile. The bird doesn't seem to give a hoot.

The water is pretty shallow there. Too bad they leave chairs in the water.

It looks like the chair has become a bit of a micro habitat.

Perhaps the chair was enjoying a stroll along the waterfront and caught a glimpse of its own reflection. Chair was stunned to see this odd, green, four-legged beast staring back, just staring, so he crept closer and closer and closer. Needless to say, this ended tragically as chairs generally cannot swim.

Great picture, allthough it's a pitty that people left plastic chairs in a wildlife preservation.

Something about the upside-down chair is rather humorous. The bird doesn't seem to care.

Tara said...

Ha! The chair is an addition that makes it a picture perfect!

Funny! A strong wind, maybe? You would think someone would remove it, but it made a great shot with the bird. Kind of a statement on how we treat wildlife and their habitat.

i had to laugh at the comments from magic eye and brian!!!
i was going to say the chair is there so the sandpiper can sit and digest when he is done eating, but that is simply eclipsed by their comments!!

There is a story behind everything, not always interesting or could be fantastic... Interesting shot, especially with that cool bird there!

Thank you for hosting this wonderful watery sharing!

Yes this is an interesting photo for watery wednesday! Great picture!

That is interesting, did the wind blow it or did someone decide to pollute?
Thanks for having me on your watery Wednesday meme

Great photo! The bird looks like it's enjoying itself =)

Why people leave their "trash" behind is beyond me! Doesn't seem to bother the little bird though :-)

what an interesting "found" object! love the reflections in the water.

Interesting capture. I too wonder who put that there and why still there. I hope that is not used to hit some birds or i hope the person who sat on that did not fall on the water. But i guess no worry because it looks shallow.

I just posted mine, Sweet! :)

Oh, this one puts a smile on my face. The originality of it, I guess. I love the reflection and the ripples in the water. :D

Yes, odd and curious shot but fun and lovely as well...the bird doesn't want to be wet sometimes so he would step up there you know! lol. ;D

I'm looking forward to when we start having open water around here. I'm getting tired of these icy conditions.

Now! That's some unique and interesting shot! :)
Who said furniture had to be kept on the dry ground? *heehee*

Hope your upcoming weekend will be a great one :)

This photo is pure artistry!

Very cool subject! The bird doesn't seem to mind the chair, but still makes you wonder where it came from.

Unknown said...

Well observed and shot. If that chair's not removed soon, it will become a favorite perch for the water birds especially cormorants and kingfishers.
