Sky Watch Friday

I think this is called an urban hawk. I was about to make a turn onto this side street when I saw this hawk fly by. I watched to see where it would go and my luck, it landed on top of a street lamp post. Awesome! No traffic. I turned on my camera, got to the corner and took some shots. I even got to make a U-turn and stop right under the lamp post to get more.

Miss Saxy, I thought he caught you snapping his pic. I think that's a stank eye he's giving you :) But what a treat to see this in the city.

Oh you lucky girl! Cannot believe you captured a hawk! And so clear! I know there are hawks in Oslo, but I have only seen on - and that was a little one, dead.

Great shots - and as another one said: Never leave without your camera!

Those birds are ALL business. I experienced one that flew down for a Dove...and went about fifteen feet with it over my head, screaming. I guess it was telling me and anyone else to get out of its way. Scared me just a lil'.

Beautiful pic...unfortunately it caused me to 'duck'...

Very cool! What is it? (I'm horrible IDing birds.) I know we have something like this here. My oldest son can tell you the name of everybird in the sky. Me? It's a pretty red one or a pretty blue one. Or it may be an ugly black one?? The one's standing in the road are scary ones!
Have a supoer weekend- supposed to be 90 here.

Oh my, these are wonderful. How great that you got to experience this. Often when I turn around to take photos of a hawk it will fly away.
