Monochrome Monday

While at Descanso Gardens walking through the camelia garden, it was difficult not to notice all of the camelias that had fallen from the trees scattered on the ground among the leaves. I thought they made for some interesting shots. One day I'll show the ones in color. Today I'm showing the ones I shot in black and white. I really like these. Hope you do too.

I love the second one! Beautiful!

Plenty of modelling in the subjects to make the B&W work.

Love how the monochrome highlights the shape and levels of shadow! Delightful!

Beautiful contrast of the white flower against the dark foliage.

Most excellent!

Love the way the light and shadows are the star of the show, when you use B/W. Colours are great, but sometimes you just want to show the architechtural details.

It's not often that flowers look better in B&W, but these are striking. I particularly like the second one!

I've never seen a camelia flower before. They look beautiful though, even in mono.
