I can't seem to get enough of Bolsa Chica Wetlands. It's the only place I've been so far where the birds are in abundance. You can't get much closer to nature than this so I'm sharing a couple of shots from my last trip and a video I put together of photos and short video clips.
What a fantastic place to visit. I wasn't familiar with many of the shore birds so I went and looked the place up..'Nearly half of the birds found in the U.S. have been seen in Huntington Beach. A fabulous 321 out of Orange County's 420 bird species were sighted here in the past decade' And I see you showed the fence where there is protected nesting areas. I love the video clips with the photos as it is such a clever idea. Thank you so much for posting to Nature Notes. I enjoyed learning about this magical place.. Michelle
Wow, you werent' kidding when you mentioned earlier that you walked a long way. It certainly was worth the trip back there wasn't it. I have to ask - did you carry your camera and a video camera? Your video was a great way to take us with you.
I can see why you like going there! What a wonderful place. Wetlands are such a treasure and there is always abundant life in them. Your photos are fantastic!

How wonderful! The do look a tad grumpy, though - maybe they need little bird-sized sunglasses. :-)
