Pavillion of Wings

This is the first time I haven't had a lot of time to visit participants of my own meme. I'm about to get to it so I have a lot of catching up to do. But before I did, I had to post at least one photo from my little adventure yesterday. The Natural History Museum in Los Angeles has a Butterfly Pavillion from April 15 - September 7th this year. I just learned about it and apparently this is their 9th year. I got some really great shots and messed up some really great shots. Just had to share one of them before I start visiting my folks from Watery Wednesday.

MONARCH BUTTERFLY

This is one of the shots I messed up. In the view finder it looked perfect. It's not as sharp as I thought it was but I still love it. I'll share more of these beautiful butterflies and try to figure out their names after I'm done catching up with WW.

I certainly don't see anything wrong with this beautiful picture, but I'm looking forward to seeing more of your pictures from your visit to the butterfly pavillion.

I'm always so saddened by how many Monarchs hit the windshield in the summer, but always save heart knowing they once had the freedom to sail the warm summer breezes without a care in the world 'cept finding the nearest nectar bar.

Love the music...

I am really happy that I found your blog, because we are just neighbors, in a sense, SoCal. Joining memes have me more active in outdoors, done a lot of driving and have scheduled our outings for 2 months already. And we can exchange notes, too on what places to visit and see.

Lovely photo. The museum sounds wonderful. I know it can be difficult visiting all our friends when life gets busy. I think we've all been there and everyone truly understands :)

Beautiful shot. I'll have to take my grandson there. [Your comment came in as a "noreply-comment@blogger.com", so I'll answer your question here. The other two were also convicted. The young one of 4 counts and the middle one of 6 counts. Sentencing is June 12th.]

If this is one of your messed up shots, then what would it be if it's not messed up? hahaha...for me it still looks great. Even better than what I did at the butterfly farm.

What a lovely butterfly! Do you have any way of identifying the different species?
